The Gotstyle Black And White Party

We live in a vibrant, international cosmopolitan city!  Surely there MUST be alluring, mind-blowing events to attend and places to be. I’m searching for a destination fit for a society maven. (Sigh)

In the midst of Toronto Fashion week, I was up for something a little unique and adventurous and off the beaten path!  A whisper in my ear suggested the wildly anticipated Black and White After Dark party on Wednesday October 24th.  Variety was certainly the spice of life at this event hosted by Gotstyle and Chivas Regal Canada.   Judging by the turnout of this evening, Gotstyle currently enjoys a loyal (good looking) following indeed.

Whether you’re a rocker, hipster, or vintage enthusiast guests were encouraged to express their Black or White style with individuality and creativity.  Sleek and modern, sophisticated, vibrant, distinctive, classic and even Avant garde are all words that come to mind as I worked my way through the room admiring all of the attendees ensembles.

The two-story 6,000sq ft. space in the Distillery District was a location that’s the perfect inspiration for luxury and sensuality.  With brick lined streets and dozens of restored Victorian industrial buildings this event space was divine for both a soiree and as the newest Gotstyle location.  Being one of Ontario’s hottest attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion boutiques and unique cafes I have no doubt this location will be a blazing success, especially after this evenings successful debut.  The exaggerated high ceilings, concrete floors, art installations and the strategically placed life size zebra served as a perfect back drop for a night out in Toronto with style.

First stop was the Chivas Regal bar.  I must admit that Chivas has never been my spirit of choice, as a matter of fact I don’t believe I have ever had it before this evening, however just like the saying states, “When in Rome!”. I certainly did enjoy the bartender’s mixology skills.   Chivas Regal proves to be a classic cocktail for sipping and socializing with class.

In addition to the impressive room, the first class experience was enhanced by the attentive, well dressed staff throughout the evening.  Musical beats played by House of Class, Matthew Bryce pulsed through the room filling it with an energetic vibe. Dance party fashion show? Yes please!!  Far from a traditional catwalk show the models paraded up and down the stairway showcasing Gotstyle’s latest fashion trends.    .

I left this evening with new friends, a liking for Chivas and knowing where I am going to buy that special someone a gift for the holiday season.  If I don’t find something for him? Thank goodness Gotstyle is launching Women’s apparel!  I’m excited!!
