Since we’re nearing the end of summer, it’s important that we take full advantage of what summer is all about: the nice weather! Time to step out of the city and enjoy the great outdoors in these campgrounds that are not too far away from the heart of Montreal. Camping can be super romantic cuddling with a loved one in a tent or talking over the heat of a fire. So pack up the tent, wine, and your favourite camping buddy!
Mauricie
Located north of Trois-Rivières, this is the perfect place for a summer weekend getaway. Enjoy canoeing, hiking, or marvelling at the 4 large lakes that surround this park. Did I mention that it’s a National Park?

Mont-Saint-Bruno
This campground used to be a luxury resort in the early 20th century, and when you spend some time around it, you’ll know why! There are countless breathtaking views including 5 lakes and a beautiful orchard. This campground is covered in different varieties of trees and flowers, making it a truly beautiful place to be for the weekend.

Frontenac
If water is your thing, this is the place for you. It’s home to Grand lac Saint-François, the third biggest lake south of the St. Lawrence river. Enjoy waterfalls, swimming (skinny dipping?), canoeing, and much more at this park!

Mastigouche
This is one enchanting campground, which makes sense since one of its lakes is named after a Sorcerer who used to haunt the island in it (supposedly). Although those rumours are exciting, the place is actually low-key which makes for a very relaxing weekend away.
