Did You Know That Rest = Wealth?

By Lavender Morantz · On November 24, 2014

Have you ever wished you could get paid to REST? Well, sit back and chill out because I have an AWESOME “wealth secret” for you….

REST, RELAXATION and RECOVERY = WEALTH

As an entrepreneur, I’ll openly admit that I get super caught-up in the “being busy” game at times. We all do. As people, as families, as parents, as entrepreneurs.

What I’ve found to be the big secret to being at my very best though, is actually in the opposite of busyness.

It’s in the times of REST, RELAXATION, and RECOVERY that my mind is at its most creative and my biggest ideas seem to flow as if they were abundant, magical, gifts from the Universe.

Have you tried this? Or is your schedule so packed with To-Do’s that you’ve forgotten how?

Darren Hardy, the founder of Success Magazine, has an entire success talk on the idea of making time for REST. He even goes as far as to credit rest with as much (if not more) importance than your actual “work activities” to your over all achievement and success.

Mike Dooley, the author of the New York Times Best Seller “Notes From the Universe”, stresses taking naps regularly during the day as part of the creative process as well.

Dr. Oz takes naps every day in-between shooting his morning and afternoon prime time TV episodes.

Self-care and sufficient rest are vital parts of the creative process.

I’ve learned to make time daily for rest, relaxation and recovery. It makes me a better entrepreneur, mom, friend, and human all around.

The other day, for example, I began my day (after dropping my daughter off at school with a hissy fit or two of course) with some yoga and meditation. Needed! I also set some time aside that afternoon for a little extra self-love in the form of a manicure/pedicure. I take walks in my area regularly throughout my days too.

Nature (and especially water in nature) is an incredible way to tap into rest and abundant creativity.

Whatever helps you unplug and chill out both mentally and physically – go do it.

Your success depends on it.
