Kara Granger is a 23 year old entrepreneur, born in Vancouver and currently residing in Toronto. Kara’s education history is a mixture of event planning, tourism, entrepreneurial management, fashion, mandarin and business development for Green Town Property in Shanghai. She is known for her positive outlook on life, and vibrant energy. Her friends describe her as, ambitious, determined and genuine. As an extrovert she loves to keep extremely active outdoors, and the thought of travelling around the world entices her.

Two and a half years ago Kara decided to make a life changing decision when she moved to Toronto at the age of 20 with nothing more then 2 suitcases and $1000. She had her high hopes in making something of herself and following her passion for business. It didn’t take long for her ambition to rise as she competed in Miss World Canada winning the fitness award, SSUSA, and Miss Universe Canada. She enjoys travelling off to Paris, Milan, Mexico, Shanghai, and Hong Kong in constant search of what ideas she could bring back with her. Kara’s love for modelling and gowns soon collided as she opened her first boutique gown and accessories line.

She is currently managing ” The Kara Louise Collection” as well her charity group called ” The Kare Bear Community which is a community street mission group that also supports Operation Smile and The Womens Interval House. Her spare time is spent focusing on her studies in Mandarin, and international real estate.

She truly appreciates her love and passion for helping those less fortunate, and is determined to impact many young girls lives with her positive outlook on self-image and self-respect. One of her long term goals with The Kare Bear Commuity is to travel to orphanages around the world and create a global campaign based on inner beauty in young women. Growing up watching World Vision and donating monthly bags of clothes to numerous charities, played an important role in her understanding and appreciating the value of helping others, any way that she can.

Kara’s motto in life is that each person has their own view of what being successful looks like. For her it means “To believe in yourself and to follow your dreams. To have goals in life and a drive to succeed. To surround yourself with the things and the people that make you happy. THIS IS SUCCESS”!

Things I’m passionate about: Fashion, fitness, travelling, charity work, the great outdoors, music, Paris and wine.

My ideal first date would be: Doing any kind of activity. I feel like you can truly get to know someone when you are living! Not staring each other in the face and asking question after question as if you’re at an interview or competing for Miss America.

People say that I am: Down to earth, motivated and old beyond my years.

My ideal partner is: Someone who motivates me to be a better person each day and who shares common goals in life. Living a healthy lifestyle is also a must as well as self respect.

Dating deal breakers: Lying, lack of drive, and someone who is extremely closed minded. Each person you bring into your life is a reflection of you and I feel that it’s okay to be picky and have high standards.

I’m not bragging but I: have the desire to live the most amazing/exciting life possible and nothing can stand in my way of doing so. In other words, watch me soar!

A talent that may surprise you: After having a 5 minute conversation with someone I can usually pick up on what kind of person they are… to a degree.

My dream vacation: Travelling through Europe visiting each historic monument in each city with a glass of wine in one hand and a camera in the other.

On weekends you’ll find me: Going for runs along the waterfront, Kensington Market, checking out all of the festivals, reading, working.

What I put on my burger: Everything! Goat cheese, pickles, spinach, tomatoes, hot sauce, mushrooms, onions, peppers.

I was most impressed on a date when he: Puts thought and effort into doing something unique or fun! Be adventurous and step outside of the box! Rock climbing, movies in the park, bike riding, ping pong. Anything that shows your date you put more thought into your date then the typical “Coffee”.

In high school I was: A floater. I liked to have friends from all different groups.

My guilty indulgence is: The best combo out there, chocolate, peanut butter and banana. I could have that every day for the rest of my life.

In my past life I was: A monk! Or a monkey… one of the two.

In my next life I’ll be: A panda bear, because who doesn’t want to be a panda
bear?

If my life were a genre of movie it would be: A comedy / thriller

The actor that should play my life story is: Blake Lively, she is wonderful.

Favourite ice cream flavour: Rolo chunk all the way!

The best thing about Toronto is: The energy this city brings! I love how multicultural Toronto is and the diverse group of people that I have met so far.

My favourite Toronto hot spot is: Michaels On Simcoe! The crowd and staff are great and the food is tasty. During the week is my favorite time to go.

To relieve stress I: Workout, go for a walk along the water or take a yoga/pilates class. Sometimes reading an inspiring book resets my mind and helps me relax.

If I played hooky I’d: Probably end up at the mall.

If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be:

1.To meet the worlds most influential, intelligent people.
2. To spend my life seeing every inch of the earth while working with charities along the way
3. To solve all big world problems such as war, poverty, etc.
