Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz are at it again starring in the latest romantic comedy, Sex Tape. Diaz and Segel play Annie and Jay, a surprisingly happy married couple trying to rekindle their sex life.
The film begins with Diaz narrating as she reflects on her relationship, how it started and where it is now. She then discusses how the passion dies after 10 years and after having two kids. In an attempt to get their sex life back, Annie and Jay try to spice things up, resorting to alcohol, role play and finally deciding to make a sex tape on Jay’s iPad.
By mistake the video ends up being uploaded to “The Cloud” and automatically synced to numerous other iPads. The adventure begins as the couple makes it their mission to locate all the other iPads and delete the video.
Jason and Cameron are an amazingly hilarious comedic pair as the two have that quirky-flirty on screen chemistry. Their blatantly obvious use of product placement can be forgiven as their response to Apple products and its real-life struggles are quite humorous.
For a romantic comedy there’s a few cheesy unrealistic eye-roll moments, but overall this movie was on whole more funny than it was romantic. Definitely a perfect date night movie!
