We have moved into a new season where we now expose a lot more skin with fewer layers and shorter hem-lines. It’s important to look and feel great because research shows that if you are uncomfortable in your clothing then you are expressing to the world with your body language that you are not open to all its possibilities including a great job promotion or love. So what can you do if you are not feeling confident to bare more? Here are some quick fixes (minus the gym) to increase your confidence this summer:
To Minimize a Tummy
- Select tops that have no prints or patterns
- Solids and darker hues are more slimming
- Choose tops that have rusching
- Choose undergarments like a camisole or corset to create slimmer lines
To Balance a Wider Upper Body to a Narrow Lower Body
- Flaunting a little décolletage by wearing an open neckline, draws the eyes up and lengthens your silhouette
- If you are broader in the shoulders then consider wearing thicker straps versus a strapless top or dress
- Avoid boxy cuts that will make your upper body look short and stalky

To Minimize Your Bottom Half
- Wearing a monochromatic look (one shade or very similar shades of a colour) will help to elongate the frame
- Should you choose to pair a variety of colours and big patterns it will draw more attention to that area of the body it is worn
- Stripes will draw attention to the lower half as well! Choose vertical over horizontal!
- Choose a flattering hemline of a dress or skirt (where it ends is where the eye will go)
- Petite gals shouldn’t wear anything past the knee or it will shrink your frame
