To recharge myself, I used to love going for an intensive cardio exercise at night, taking a nice shower, and going outside on a park bench enjoying the quiet and the summer breeze while drying myself off and listening to music or reading a book. Here are some mood songs that put me back in that quiet, calm state of mind, and some songs that help me stay grounded even in times of stress and high pressure.
Dawn Golden – All I Want
As a big sucker for Suits and its soundtracks, I loved this song and how it fits perfectly into this mood song playlist. Slow and steady. Emotional and resounding.
Southborder – Tulog
Tulog means, in Philipino, dreams. And apparently this song is about a guy wishing that he had this girl beside him, but they can only be together in his dreams. Used to play this song for a band in Toronto, and it would get stuck in my head practicing with them. And man oh man the stories and the experiences we’ve had! I’ve never found myself getting into songs that I do not understand, but this one was different.
Roughly Made – Blue Night
Roughly Made, a moniker, I came up with when I found myself constantly driving myself crazy. Yes, I put this together a while back, and the motto is: Just make something, even if it’s shitty, that’s okay. But somehow I think it captured the essence of the mood that I was trying to depict. Lovely siren at the back with some distance from the city. Some peace and quiet somehow away from it all.
Honne – The Night

And before I would get back to civilization, I would play a track to get me back into the mood. Put on a piece of armour and pick myself back up. And my mind would be quiet. Love this track.
Oliver Koletzki feat. NÖRD – After All (Claptone Remix)
And a little present for you all. Deep house grooves. It is a little old, but oh well. Good track still.
